A professional sports team had made big plans for their IT infrastructure and wanted to expand their current network. The network expansion included the addition of almost 500 high speed, high capacity ethernet connections. This network expansion would require adding network hardware to the current system. Unfortunately, the manufacturer could not deliver. JDC was called in to provide refurbed equipment with JDC's lifetime warranty. Delivery was in about two weeks and the savings was in the hundreds of thousands of dollars compared to new.
JDCrecently provided a national phone company with eighty refurbished modular routers, one hundred and sixty refurbished network modules, and WAN interface cards for their internal network. Seventysix new network cards that were not available refurbished were integrated into the refurbished systems to complete the configuration.
"It took JDC only a week to stage, test, and have the systems ready for shipment and we realized a cost savings of over a million dollars."
Oneof the nation's largest data service companies uses JDC to save millions of dollars each year. Annual purchases in the one to two million dollar range provide JDC's customer with an annual cost savings of four to six million dollars.
"JDC provides reliable, tested, and warranteed refurbished equipment along with outstanding customer support. This allows us to buy from JDC with confidence."
Onthe night of Saturday, March 20th, 2004, a leading provider of communication services had their large scale T3 router crash. The manufacturer was notified to perform on-site service (via the service contract) and the T3 service was switched over to the Hot Spare router supplied by JDC. The JDC router began to run production traffic immediately as it took 3-4 hours for the service technician to arrive. The service technician was unable to fix the broken router under maintenance, and the JDC engineered Hot Spare solution allowed the customer to avert a true disaster. The JDC router continues to run production traffic today. The manufacturer finally repaired the router, but it is now playing the role of the "Hot Spare." The maintenance contract was cancelled because Hot Spares provide a level of service that can not be equaled by four hour response maintenance programs with expensive annual service contracts.
"When our T3 router crashed we quickly swapped WAN cables to the JDC Hot Spare, averting a disaster and saving our jobs."
Agrowing telephone companylocated in the south needed a large number of single mode fiber runs from an existing site to an adjacent site and tipped on both ends. The work had to be done after hours by union workers. After a site survey, JDC teamed up with the local union and had the job done on schedule under budget because lodging and transportation costs did not exist. The customer was also happy to employ local workers.
Thepurchasing agent at one of the nation's largest data recovery companies had this to say via email:
"Thank you for your time and efforts this past year. You have been a pleasure to work with and an "ace in the hole" for me when I really needed it! I am looking forward to doing additional business together in the new year."
